NextImg:Actress Victoria Tennant’s former NYC townhouse lists for $10.49M

A turn-of-the-century Upper West Side townhouse once owned by British actress Victoria Tennant has hit the market for $10.49 million.

Tennant, who was married to actor and comedian Steve Martin from 1986 to 1994, bought the home in 2003 for $4.16 million.

The current seller is Ronnie Planalp, a founder and producer at Clear Eye Productions, a documentary film production company that has produced two award-winning docs, “They Came to Play” and “Shakespeare High.” Planalp, who launched her career at Goldman Sachs, is also a theater producer in London and New York, and a board member at Film at Lincoln Center.

At 20 feet wide, the five-story residence is a spacious 7,300 square feet and sits on a charming block between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West. It features five bedrooms, five baths and two powder rooms.

Built in 1899, the home boasts 11-foot ceilings, large windows, a terrace off the living room that overlooks a landscaped garden, a library, a study/office, an eat-in chef’s kitchen and multiple woodburning fireplaces. Extra storage is found, Harry Potter-style, tucked under the stairs.

A main bedroom suite takes up the entire third floor and includes two walk-in closets and an ensuite bath, while the fourth and fifth floors feature additional bedrooms — one on the fourth floor comes with a Juliet balcony. The striking home is also equipped with an elevator, central air and a temperature-controlled wine cellar in the basement.

In 2005, Tennant — who starred in “The Winds of War” and is the daughter of a Russian ballerina and a British producer and talent agent — sold the home for $6.2 million to Planalp and her then-husband, Stephen Trevor, who is now a partner at Cornell Capital, a private equity firm. Planalp bought the home outright in 2014 for $6 million.

The listing broker is Douglas Elliman’s Lauren Muss.
