An accused criminal was on the lam Tuesday after escaping from cops –by wriggling out of his handcuffs in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.

Joseph King, 21, pulled the disappearing act as he was being brought to Brooklyn Central Booking around 5:45 p.m. Monday on grand larceny and assault charges connected to a domestic incident, police said.

King managed to wriggle one of his hands out of the cuffs and then ran off into the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street subway station, cops said.

The NYPD on Tuesday released a mugshot of King, seen with a neck tattoo and wearing a multi-colored shirt.&nbsp;

A surveillance image appears to show him running with one handcuff still attached to one hand.&nbsp;
