Just ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night kicking off, Rachel Sennott was mistakenly identified as Rachel Zegler during ABC’s Oscars Red Carpet Show broadcast. The moment took place during an interview with The Brutalist star Adrien Brody, as clips of several stars on the red carpet played alongside Brody’s chat with Jesse Palmer.
Eagle-eyed viewers caught the slip-up on Sunday evening and of course took to social media to share their thoughts.
“Not the Oscars doing my girl Rachel Sennott dirty,” one wrote on X.
“RACHEL ZEGLER WHO baby that is rachel sennott,” another chimed in.
“RACHEL ZEGLER?? RACHEL SENNOTT LMAOOO,” someone else quipped.
“and they can’t tell Rachel Sennott and Rachel Zegler apart,”one penned, while another called out the “terrible mistake” on the network’s part.
“not the oscars labeling rachel sennott as rachel zegler… someone’s getting fired,” a critic teased.
“wrong rachel…,” another viewer pointed out on Bluesky.

The Saturday Night star announced this year’s nominations alongside Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang back in January. Meanwhile Zegler is a presenter at this year’s ceremony.
As for Brody, he is up for Best Actor against Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice). Brody is coming off of his first Golden Globe win for the role of László Tóth, while The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbet, is up for ten awards at this year’s Oscars. The
