NextImg:Aaron Rodgers, Sean Strickland have different reactions to Donald Trump’s UFC appearance

Two professional athletes had different reactions to former President Trump’s appearance at UFC 302 on Saturday night at the Prudential Center in Newark.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers — who had been considered to be a running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — didn’t look at Trump who nodded in his direction when he was going to his front-row seat after he entered the arena flanked by UFC president Dana White.

Trump, who was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records on Thursday, received a much different reaction from another pro athlete.

UFC star Sean Strickland gave him a shout out after his split-decision victory over Paulo Costa in the co-main event.

“President Trump, you’re the man, bro,” Strickland said in a post-match interview with Rogan after his win. “It is a damn travesty what they are doing to you. I’ll be donating to you, my man.”

The majority of the spectators in the arena also showed their support for Trump.

“The round of applause he’s getting right now is pretty staggering,” Joe Rogan said on the broadcast when Trump entered the arena.

As for Rodgers, he recently said at Jets’ OTAs he is a supporter of RFK Jr., but that he still wanted to play football.

“I love Bobby,” Rodgers said. “We had a couple of really nice conversations. But there were really two options. It was retire and be his VP or keep playing and I want to keep playing.”
