Aaron Rodgers thinks the Jets are a team he can take to the Super Bowl.

Rodgers went through the reasons that brought him to New York in his introductory press conference on Wednesday.

“They smoked us last year, so I know they had a good team,” Rodgers said when asked what first attracted him to the Jets, referring to their 27-10 win in Green Bay last season.

Rodgers did not get into specifics as to how long he plans on pursuing that Super Bowl dream with the Jets when.

He was asked whether he only plans on being with the Jets for one season.

“I am just going to focus on this season,” Rodgers said. “I expect to be here for he duration of the offseason and get to know the team and the staff.”

Rodgers did say he plans on being with the Jets for the “foreseeable future”, but did not elaborate.

Rodgers also noted he loves offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett “like a brother.”

“I’m an old guy, so I wanted to be a part of a team that could win it all,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers described it as a “surreal day” and expressed his confidence with the team that GM Joe Douglas built.

The Jets and Packers agreed to a trade on Monday that saw the teams swapping picks in the first round with Green Bay moving up from 15 to 13.

The Jets are also sending Green Bay a second-round pick (No. 42 overall) and a sixth-round pick (No. 207 overall) in this year’s draft as well as a 2024 conditional second-round pick that will be a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays for the Jets in 2023.

Rodgers arrived in New Jersey on Tuesday night and was rocking a Jets sweater, a startling image after seeing him in Packers’ green-and-yellow for 18 years.

The hope is that Rodgers turns a team with young offensive weapons and a talented defense into a Super Bowl contender.

The Jets added Rodgers’ top receiver from Green Bay in Allen Lazard as a free agent this offseason.

Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, was benched twice last season and is expected to backup Rodgers.

Rodgers is a four-time MVP, including winning the award in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The Packers opted to part ways with the 39-year-old quarterback after an 8-9 season.

The team is handing the franchise over to Jordan Love, who has backed Rodgers up for three seasons.

Meanwhile, Rodgers started his new chapter with the Jets on Wednesday.
