On Day 2 of his return to Jets practice, Aaron Rodgers was not actually on the field.
Exhale, Jets fans. It was not a sign of a setback in his recovery from a torn Achilles.
The plan for Rodgers’ rehab calls for him not to be on the field every day, with alternatives for spending time with trainers inside the building.
Tim Boyle, Zach Wilson and Trevor Siemian were the only quarterbacks who went through stretching and drills Thursday during the 30-minute media viewing window.
Before practice, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was asked about Rodgers’ potential return and the offense looking like it was supposed to when it was tailored for Rodgers to begin the season.
“I can’t even look there right now,” Hackett said. “We’ll discuss that when we get there – if we get there.”
