NextImg:Aaron Rodgers jokes about ‘propaganda’ after inaccurate Giants media bias question

Apparently, the New York media hasn’t been hard enough on the Giants this season according to some on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

That became evident during Jets quarterback Aaron Rodger’s weekly spot on the ESPN show when producer Ty Schmit asked the future Hall of Famer about it on Tuesday.

The Giants are currently 2-8 through 10 weeks of the season and have become one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season.

“Any time they’re talking about New York in general it’s just about how the Jets suck when the Giants are maybe the worst team in the NFL in maybe the last 15 years. Like, why is that?” Schmit asked. “Do you guys hear any of that or is that it doesn’t matter either way?

“That the Giants suck and they’re not talking about it as much, is that question?” Rodgers asked with a bit of a grin as he looked for clarification.

Schmit continued down the line of questioning suggesting that the Giants’ ongoing issues and the fact that the “Giants are getting beat by like 35 points every single week.

Rodgers tried to avoid the question by making a joke in his response.

“It’s probably that Giant propaganda. They probably own the media and making sure that nobody is talking about the Giants,” Rodgers said.

Pat McAfee and his crew host their daily show out of Indianapolis, which might explain the lack of awareness of the weekly criticism the Giants have faced from the local media, including The Post.

The Giants have regularly made the back page, including on Monday with the words “UGLY. AWFUL. PUTRID” emblazoned in bold lettering following their 49-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

In October, The Post had no problem calling out the Giants for their inability to put up points at home or the need for the coaching staff to find a way to save New York’s season.

Both of New York’s sports talk stations have not been shy about their criticisms of the Giants either, and “The Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata Show’s” ongoing criticism of Kayvon Thibodeaux cost them a weekly spot with Carl Banks.

The Jets have faced their fair share of criticism as well surrounding the play of Zach Wilson and other aspects of the team as they’ve looked to try to make something out of this season after losing Rodgers in Week 1 to injury.

The Jets are currently 4-5 and sit third in the AFC East standings.

Rodgers said that the fanbase was hungry for a “winning culture” and “to get back to the playoffs,” but didn’t find the fanbase or media in New York that much different from what he’s experienced in the past.

Aaron Rodgers was asked to address a perceived anti-Jets bias in the media on Tuesday.

“They’re also quick to have some kneejerk reactions. I think that’s the NFL in general though,” Rodgers said. “It’s overreaction every single week.”

He added: “Our media, it’s good. It’s good media. I think every media is tough in their own ways. I was with one media for 18 years and I don’t feel like it ever got easier.”
