New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared Friday on ESPN with Pat McAfee, two days after undergoing season-ending surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon.

In his first live interview since getting hurt, Rodgers addressed his future by saying, “Give me the timetables, give me all the things you think can should or will happen. All I need is that one extra percent of motivation. So give me your doubts, your prognostications, then watch what I do.”

He called Monday “one of the toughest 24-hour stretches in my life” with a “lot of sadness, a lot of tears.”

Rodgers went down after four offensive snaps into the season-opening 22-16 overtime win vs. the Buffalo Bills.

Wednesday on Instagram, Rodgers, 39, thanked those who had reached out to him following the injury and hinted he will be back, posting “The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.”

Thursday in an Instagram Story, the four-time NFL MVP confirmed he went under the knife the previous day.

“Surgery went great yesterday,” Rodgers wrote in his post. “Thank you for all the love and prayers and support. And thanks to the [GOAT] Dr ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery.”

Aaron Rodgers posted Thursday about his surgery.

It’s unknown when Rodgers will be able to return to the Jets to support Zach Wilson as he takes over the offense.

Head coach Robert Saleh said he believes the 10-time Pro Bowler will remain “connected” to Wilson and the Jets.

Saleh also has been steadfast in his resolve that Wilson is the Jets’ starting quarterback moving forward.

“I want to make it very clear, Zach’s our quarterback,” Saleh said. “We have a lot of faith in Zach. We’re rolling with Zach and excited for him.

“Under no circumstances is any of this a competition. This is Zach’s team and we’re rolling with Zach.”

Right now, Tim Boyle is the Jets’ backup quarterback, but it was reported that the Jets tried to sign Brett Rypien from the Rams’ practice squad this week before Los Angeles promoted him to the 53-man roster.
