If there’s a big event in New York, you can bet on Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers being there.
The new signal caller was in attendance on Sunday for the U.S. Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens alongside wide receiver Randall Cobb and tight end C.J. Uzomah.
It would appear the Jets were given most of the day off Sunday after a long training camp that began a week before every other team on July 22 because the team played in the Hall of Fame Game.
Rodgers was wearing a black “Happy Hours” hat before switching to a navy blue U.S. Open hat in the stands.
The trio was spotted watching the barn-burner matchup between Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul, with Shelton emerging victorious in straight sets.
Shelton seems to be coming into his own as an American star in the tennis world as the Jets trio watched in awe.
Rodgers has been taking in all that the Big Apple has to offer following his trade from Green Bay, hitting up multiple Knicks games while sitting courtside, as well as singing along to Taylor Swift while she performed at MetLife Stadium.
The Jets quarterback has fit right in with the New York social scene and the lifestyle that comes with it.
The Jets open their season versus the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 11 at MetLife Stadium for “Monday Night Football.”
The game will be a good barometer for Rodgers and the Jets to see how far they have come, and how much work still needs to be done, to compete with Super Bowl contenders such as the Bills.
