And here’s the other thing: He’s even better than his numbers, even though those numbers include: a lifetime OPS of 1.028; a lifetime batting average of .294; 368 home runs; three home run titles; and now a batting title. He’s also a superior defender. He’s also a plus base runner. He’s also a captain who only symbolically carries the “C” but earns it every day.
