At this point, the Yankees are playing out the string, but Aaron Boone’s fire is in midseason form.

The Yankees manager was ejected in the bottom of the second inning Wednesday night after a borderline pitch went against Oswald Peraza, and home-plate umpire Lance Barrett had heard enough.

Barrett tossed Boone, and a microphone nearby picked up some of Boone’s ensuing tirade.

“I know you have the biggest zone in the league,” Boone could be heard saying to Barrett during the game in The Bronx against the Blue Jays. “You must f–king know it, too.” 

After a minute of one-sided arguing, Boone left the field to a round of applause.

He had been chirping previous to the strike call against Peraza.

Both of the previous hitters — first Anthony Volpe and then Oswaldo Cabrera — took pitches that appeared underneath the zone yet were called strikes. 

It marked the seventh time the Yankees skipper has been tossed this season, breaking a tie with Oakland’s Mark Kotsay for the most in the American League and now knotted with Cincinnati’s David Bell for most in the majors.
