There must be some mi-steak.
A steakhouse customer has claimed that he was promised “unlimited” sides with his meal — only to discover the restaurant’s promotion was not as it seemed.
The man, Mikey, who goes by @notmikeyd on TikTok, posted a video dishing about the experience that has over 670,000 views since being posted five days ago.
In the video, he explained that his dinner companion, Josh, had ordered the steak dinner while he ordered the pasta.
Mikey said it was a lovely “sharing experience” and that they “ate every single plate on the menu in the sides area.”
“This restaurant is absolutely hemorrhaging money, but kudos to them for giving us a fantastic night,” Mikey said he thought to himself at the time.
He said he even joked with the waiter about the restaurant’s promise of unlimited sides.
“This seems like a terrible business model to be giving away this much food for the price of one steak,” he claimed to have told garçon.
He said his waiter replied: “It’s there right? Go for it. Enjoy the sides. Unlimited fellas.”
He said he and his friend decided to “live it up” and they enjoyed the “fantastic” sides.
When the end of the night rolled around, Mikey said he went to pay $30 for his pasta, and his friend Josh went to pay $40 for his steak. However, the waiter handed Josh a $95 bill — which came with a side of confusion.
“But you said the sides were unlimited,” Josh questioned at the time, according to Mikey’s retelling.
“Oh no,” said the waiter. “I just meant you could order as many as you wanted to.”
Mikey told the waiter, “You can do that at any restaurant.”
Mikey asked his followers, “Are we in the wrong here? Are we stupid?”
His followers rushed to his comments section to support his beef with the establishment.
“Honestly with how it seems… that’s on the waiter,” one said.
“Bro, I would have done the exact same. The exact same thing. Literally Olive Garden unlimited soup and salad you just keep going for like $10,” said another.
“That’s definitely a situation worth calling a manager,” said a third.
Others said that Mikey should’ve been skeptical from the start.
“Unlimited doesn’t mean free ????????????,” someone said.
“Unlimited sides is a thing. But no restaurant will allow you to share those sides. That should have been your first clue something wasn’t right,” another added.
