If you’re a sports fan, you’re familiar with the agony and ecstasy that comes with your team making it to Game 7 of a playoff or championship series.
Now, Prime Video is diving deep into a handful of win-or-go-home games across sports history with the new documentary series “Game 7,” subtitled “a five-part series on the two greatest words in sports.” All five episodes premiered on the platform yesterday, October 22.
“Game 7” was co-executive produced by a central figure in two of the series’ five episodes: former New York Rangers captain and six-time Stanley Cup champion Mark Messier, who told The Post that he still thinks about the Rangers’ Game 7 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals “every day.”
16 of the 22 players on ’94 Rangers, who are featured in Episode 5, recently reunited over a weekend to watch the docu-series, Messier also revealed.
Also among the famous names on the production team are “sports enthusiast” and actor Danny DeVito and a former ESPN executive who co-created “30 for 30,” Connor Schell.
Each episode of “Game 7” revisits one memorable Game 7 with firsthand accounts from members of both the winning and losing teams.
“Game 7” is an Amazon Original that is exclusive to Prime Video, so you’ll need a subscription to watch. Luckily, if you aren’t already an Amazon Prime member, you’ll be able to watch the entire season for free after becoming one.
All new Amazon Prime subscribers get a 30-day free trial to test out all the membership has to offer, including access to the Prime Video streaming service.
After the free trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month or $139.00/year.
All 18-24-year-olds, regardless of student status, can sign up for a discounted Prime for Young Adults membership by verifying their age. After a six-month free trial, you’ll pay 50% off the standard Prime monthly price of $14.99/month — just $7.49/month.
