NextImg:A healthy Azeez Ojulari plans to show what he can do: ‘Finish strong’

Azeez Ojulari played the last game like he wanted to make up for lost time.

Ojulari entered the Giants’ season with the reputation as a productive pass-rusher when he is on the field and not on the injury report.

But, in addition to missing six more games with injuries, he had no sacks in the other six games before he made big plays in the pass and rush defense against the Packers.

“I feel like I definitely have to finish strong,” Ojulari told The Post. “These last four games, I have to put it out there, play my best.”

Ojulari split a 10-yard sack with Dexter Lawrence — that directly preceded a critical missed fourth-quarter field goal by the Packers in a 24-22 win — and added two other quarterback hits.

He also had a 5-yard tackle for loss on a third down against the slippery Jayden Reed.

“You just have to keep going and know it’s going to come if you trust your game and the work you put in,” Ojulari said. “Whenever you make a big play for the team and can spark the defense, it’s a great momentum boost. We won by two, and it’s great to impact the game. The main thing we are trying to do is whatever we can to win.”

Ojulari had 13.5 sacks in 24 career games entering this season. His patience has been tested by hamstring and ankle injuries.

“Being out there and knowing I’m way, way, way better than what I’ve been showing,” Ojulari said. “Film is your résumé. When you are out there, you have to take advantage of all your reps. This last game was when I felt my best — and it showed.”

With Kayvon Thibodeaux (11.5 sacks) playing at a Pro Bowl level on one edge, Ojulari returning to form would be a major boost to the defense.

It wouldn’t hurt to solidify Ojulari’s future by entering his contract year in 2024, either.

“I’m back to where I started the season,” Ojulari said as far as handling a heavier snap count. “Rolling from the top.”

The Giants listed RT Evan Neal (ankle) as doubtful, and DT Dexter Lawrence (hamstring), TE Darren Waller and LG Justin Pugh (calf) as limited.

Pugh was a new addition to the injury report, as were LB Cam Brown (hamstring) and WR Wan’Dale Robinson (quad), both of whom are expected to play.

Waller would have to be activated from injured reserve by 4 p.m. Saturday to play after missing the last five games.

“We’ll see how it goes for Sunday, but I was able to do everything they asked me,” Waller said. “I’m going into it with the mindset I’ll play.”

Waller expects he will be on a limited snap count, “probably a lot less than 100 percent” the workload.
