The Issue: David McClary facing a Parole Board that has recently sprung 43 other cop killers.
Granting parole to David McClary would be the 44th time that a cop killer has been released by the Parole Board over the last eight years (“Cop-Slayer Hood is Up for Parole,” April 6).
This is sickening and blatantly immoral. The unfathomable anguish that the unprincipled and imprudent Parole Board has caused the families of these heroic officers is repulsive and should be denounced by any decent-minded person.

Both of the Cuomos have been a disgrace.
Gov. Mario Cuomo got rid of the death penalty for cop killers. Then Gov. Andrew Cuomo eased the guidelines for parole and appointed 12 lefties to the Parole Board, so that 43 cop killers have been turned loose, and the families of victims have to re-live the pain every time a new hearing is held.

I find it appalling that, in this day and age, woke Parole Boards still even consider parole for those who ambush and kill cops. These cop killers are heroes in jail; I am not shedding a tear for them.
I have family on the job and know former prosecutors, and I can’t imagine the pain that must be felt by those whose loved ones never came home. These killers chose their path; no sympathy can be found here.

This news, like so much of the news in this state, once again highlights how powerless we are as individuals.
How can lawmakers sitting in Albany, with the ability to change this, think it’s a good idea?
How can they not see how destructive this is to our safety and security?
How can they not understand that killing a police officer, especially in cold blood, has a ramification beyond the killing of a citizen?
To those who vote for them time and again: Stop. Your votes are driving our once-proud and prosperous state to the point of oblivion.

It was Mario Cuomo who fought against the death penalty during his terms as governor with an assurance that cowards like McClary would spend the rest of their lives in prison. That is until his son Andrew became governor and threw that assurance out the window by appointing radical lefties, with no sympathy for the police or their families, to the Parole Board.
It seems that nothing good comes out of the Cuomo family.

The Issue: Fencer Stephanie Turner’s refusal to compete against a trans woman at a tournament.
Stephanie Turner chose to take a knee and not compete, rather than perpetuate the charade that men can become women by wishing (“Fencer gal is DQ’d after match protest,” April 4).
Turner is quoted saying: “You’re a man, and I’m a woman.”
Her opponent, as this clear-headed athlete knows, was born male, and a man he will forever be. Touché to her.

By taking a knee and not competing against transgender athletes, Turner stood tall for female athletes who are constantly having to compete against biological males who identify as transgender. Turner was black-carded and disqualified from the tournament for this.
Hopefully, the United States Fencing Association and International Olympic Committee will reverse the practice of allowing competition by gender identity.
Female athletes who invest their time, energy and money must be free to pursue their sports careers, unencumbered by biological males who identify as transgender.
