Lights, camera, travel.
The UK has become a hotspot for movie and prestige TV filming in recent years — so much so that The Hollywood Reporter recently dubbed London “the new Hollywood.”
So if you’re booking a trip across the pond, why not visit several screen-worthy locales while you’re at it? Whether you’re curious about the ballroom from “Bridgerton” or the cathedral from “The Crown,” we’ve compiled a selection of filming locations — and nearby Hilton hotels — below.
This travel destination just might be the diamond of the season. While most of “Bridgerton” was filmed in Bath, the first ball scene of Season 2 was actually shot in Brentford, steps from the Hilton Syon Park.
The Gothic York Minster cathedral served as the setting for Charles and Camilla’s Windsor Castle wedding in the Season 5 finale of “The Crown.” And luckily for royal fans, the DoubleTree by Hilton York is only a 9-minute walk from the 13th-century building.
While we can’t guarantee a Timothée Chalamet sighting, Bath is home to a tour of “Wonka” filming locations, including the Abbey and Parade Gardens, The Colonnades and Walcot and Bath Streets. The DoubleTree by Hilton Bath is close to all the screen-worthy sights.
You’re a tourist, Harry! Warner Bros. Studio offers an ongoing “The Making of Harry Potter” tour, only four miles from the Hilton London Waterford.
Can’t bear to miss out on “Paddington”-related sightseeing? The colorful houses on Primrose Hill were used as the famous bear’s home street in both films. The area is a quick taxi ride away from the Hilton London Metropole, which is also within walking distance to London’s actual Paddington station.
Catch the real-life M16 building, which features in the iconic “Bond” films, on the banks of the Thames. The Hilton on Park Lane is only a 10-minute walk away.
The capital of Northern Ireland offers several “Game of Thrones”-related day-trips — dragons not included.
While “Peaky Blinders” was filmed in several locations around England, the real-life gang of the same name lived in Birmingham. So what better place to feel immersed in the six-season show? The Hilton Birmingham Metropole is close by, and even hosts host “Peaky Blinders”-themed team parties on occasion.
