A burglary suspect on the run from Florida cops killed a 7-year-old child Thursday, slamming his car into a mom driving her kids to school.
The horrific crash in the city of Apopka unfolded around 8 a.m. as the mom was driving in her neighborhood on the way to the children’s school, WFTV-News said.
The alleged thief, who has not been identified, suddenly slammed into the woman’s Toyota, killing one of the children and injuring the mom and the other child in the vehicle, the outlet said.
Both the mother and second child were listed in stable condition.
“I heard a boom and I heard glass shatter,” said one neighbor whose young daughter witnessed the crash.

Another neighbor recounted that “everybody’s in shock because we got kids.”
Police said they got a call about a man breaking into a car shortly after 8 a.m., with the suspect fleeing the scene as cops began to move in.
Just two minutes later, the fleeing vehicle slammed into the mom and her kids on North Maine Avenue.
“The Apopka Police Department’s thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time,” the department said in a statement. They have not released additional information, including the condition of the fleeing suspect, whose car was mangled in the crash.
The incident is the second tragedy in three days in the city, which is about 20 miles outside Orlando.
On Monday night, an 11-year-old boy grabbed a gun and shot two teammates at football practice in a caught-on-video rampage over a bag of chips, according to police.
The footage shows one of the teammates chasing the baby-faced suspect, who is seen reaching into a car and grabbing a gun from the passenger seat — and opening fire.
One victim was hit in the torso, the other was struck in the arm.
“Over the last month all of the violence that’s taken place in our area has been with teens,” Bishop Kelvin Cobans told reporters after the Monday night shooting. “These people that are engaged in violence and [think] that the way to handle conflict is to hurt someone with a gun.”
