Where to Stream:

The Diplomat

Powered by Reelgood

Are you reeling after the bewildering and duplicitous Season 2 cliffhanger of The Diplomat? First, not to worry, it’s already been renewed for Season 3. Second, we’ve rounded up some more shows to seize your attention until the Netflix political drama returns.

The series follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) as she unpreparedly takes on a big-shot new role as ambassador to the United Kingdom in the thick of an international emergency.

A little over a year after the first season premiered in April 2023, Season 2 picks up right after the explosive (literally) finale left off: the aftermath of the car bombing targeting conservative parliament member Merritt Grove (Simon Chandler) and threatening the life of Wyler’s husband Hal (Rufus Sewell). The rest of the season deals with the fallout of the tragedy, Kate’s fight to prove who was behind the deadly attack on the British warship in Season 1, whether to divorce her husband and if she wants to become the next VP of the United States. Whew.

Filming is already underway for Season 3, but are you longing for similar watches to stream in the meantime? Keep reading for 7 more series like The Diplomat to binge now.

There are six seasons of the completed show available making it the perfect next binge watch.

  3. THE REGIME EPISODE 3 FIST PUMPING ELENA PUMPING HER FISTS

If you enjoyed the steaminess of The Diplomat, try out the Max dark comedy The Regime. Albeit, the erotic scenes are a bit more bizarre. Kate Winslet is Elena Vernham: the fictional chancellor of an unmanned Central European country. The six episode miniseries follows a year inside the walls of the palace as Elena’s power and sanity crumbles. In her third series for Max, Winslet’s performance as the kinky and paranoid tyrant was hailed by many. Created by Succession writer Will Tracy, the series is so much more than the political satire that meets the eye.
