Three straphangers were recently punched in the face during separate attacks within the city’s subway system – including one victim who suffered a brain bleed after the blows caused his head to smash into a departing train, cops said.
A 29-year-old man was attacked by a stranger after the two got into an argument while standing on the southbound Q train station at Church Avenue in Flatbush around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.
The suspect began pummeling the victim. During the flurry of punches, the victim fell and hit his head against a Q train that was leaving the station, cops said.
The victim was rushed to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was treated for bleeding in his brain, police said. He was listed in stable condition on Thursday.
The assailant – seen wearing a blue hoodie depicting the characters from the animated sitcom “Rick and Morty” – fled on foot, out of the subway station. The male attacker was described as having a dark complexion and standing about 6 feet tall. He was also wearing a black ski mask, blue jeans and white sneakers.
In a separate incident, another 29-year-old man was walking on the southbound F train platform at Queens Plaza around 2:50 p.m. Sunday when he bumped into a stranger, cops said.
That other straphanger became enraged and punched him in the face before running off.
The victim was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center for bruising to his eyes, cops said.
A photo released by the NYPD shows the suspect passing through the subway turnstile, wearing a red hoodie and black pants.
In addition, a 17-year-old boy was repeatedly punched inside the Avenue P subway station in Gravesend last week, cops said.
The teen also got into a clash with a stranger that escalated when the male suspect began to punch him in the face around 10:25 a.m. Oct. 24, police said.
That victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect, who fled on foot, appears much older than the teen. The bespectacled man is seen walking on the platform wearing a black jacket over a gray hoodie, with jeans and a black baseball cap, and carrying a tote bag.
