Two people were killed when a gunman opened fire at a law office near Las Vegas on Monday morning, according to reports.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting inside a business in Summerlin, a neighborhood about 15 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip, just after 10 a.m. local time.
The gunman allegedly killed two people inside Prince Law Group’s office before fatally shooting himself during a deposition, a law enforcement source told local outlet KTNV.
Police shut down traffic in the area while responding to the shooting, which took place on the corner of Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center Drive.
“This is a dynamic event and multiple LVMPD emergency vehicles are responding,” police said on social media. “Please avoid the area.”
Nearby schools were placed on brief, soft lockdowns that have since been lifted, FOX 5 reported.
Businesses nearby, including City National Bank and a Life Time gym, were not placed on lockdown.
Sources told FOX 5 there was “no ongoing threat” to the community.
Police are investigating the incident.
