NextImg:3 ‘offensive’ gifts you should never give a woman, according to a gift expert

An expert is sharing how to avoid landing yourself on the woman in your life’s naughty list.

A gifting enthusiast named Leah, who goes by Leahsgiftguide on TikTok, and is known as “The Gift Girl,” said there are three presents you should avoid gifting women.

Leah, from Dallas, Texas, posted a video to her TikTok sharing the tips that has since gained over 50,000 views since being posted in late September.

Leah said that unless women specifically ask to be gifted these items, avoid them at all costs.

First on her list: household cleaning supplies.

“If it can be perceived as a chore, this definitely sends the wrong message. Gifts are supposed to be happy,” she said of gifting someone some kind of cleaning supply.

Her next absolute no-no is any gift meant to help someone on their weight loss journey — especially if they never indicated they’d like to shed the pounds.

“A scale, supplements, weight loss or weight gain items are a big no,” she explained.

“This could be taken as downright offensive. And I know what you’re thinking. Who does this? According to the comments in my other videos, way more than you think,” she added.

In addition to not giving any gift indicating that a woman has to lose weight, any kind of anti-aging skincare is also a huge no.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love a good skincare regimen, and I think there’s a place for that, but anti-aging specifically sends the wrong message,” she told her 1.3 million followers.

She did give her fans the green light on gifting these items only if they’ve been specifically asked for.

“All of these items could definitely be considered a great gift if they are asked for, or if you know them well enough to know that they would actually like these items,” she said.

“But I wouldn’t just guess,” she concluded.

Leah’s followers thanked her for her expert tips.

“think for these if you don’t know whether they’d like it just don’t buy it. better to be safe than paying for a divorce right after Christmas,” one person wrote.

“My in-laws gave me a scale when I was 6 weeks postpartum with my first baby. Downright offensive is accurate,” another shared.

“As a skincare girlie – please don’t not gift them some random stuff. Better buy a product, they already like, because skincare is super individual!!,” a third chimed in.
