NextImg:2025 Masters expert picks: Predictions for Augusta

Here are the Masters picks from Post expert Mark Cannizzaro.

OK, I’m going to bite. All signs point to McIlroy finally winning a Masters and completing the career Grand Slam. He’s in form, having won twice already this year. It’s his time.

Much like the NCAA Tournament, we’re staying with chalk favorites. Scheffler has won two of the past three Masters, and it will be a shock if he’s not in the mix on the back nine Sunday.

The Northern Irishman is in strong form this season with a runner-up at Pebble Beach, where McIlroy won; a seventh-place finish at the Arnold Palmer and an eighth in his last time out, at the Valspar. His game suits Augusta.

He comes into the week as the hottest of the 12 LIV Golf competitors in the field, with two victories this season.

The 2023 Masters winner comes into the week filled with motivation. He hasn’t been in the best form in his LIV starts this season and has become somewhat of an afterthought since his move to the Saudi circuit. He’s definitely in a don’t-forget-me mood this week.
