The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has a different look and feel to it compared to previous iterations.

The PGA Tour has designated the 2024 Pro-Am as a signature event this season, meaning the payouts are bigger than in years past, and the field is much deeper.

Eighteen of the top 20 players, according to the Official World Golf Rankings, are making the trip to the California coast for this week’s event, which could spell the end of this streak of long-shot winners we’ve seen to start the 2024 PGA Tour season.

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are co-favorites to win the Pebble Beach Pro-Am at +800, but they’ve got plenty of company at the top of the board.

Xander Schauffele (+1200), Viktor Hovland (+1200), Max Homa (+1600), Patrick Cantlay (+1800) and Jordan Spieth (+1800) are all inside 20/1 at the time of writing.

The beginning of 2024 has been a mixed bag for Matt Fitzpatrick, but the forecast for this weekend’s tournament should be just what the doctor ordered for the Englishman.

Windy, rainy conditions are expected at Pebble Beach and that should play right into the 29-year-old’s hands.

Fitzpatrick finished T6 at Pebble Beach two years ago and posted a T12 when the U.S. Open was played here in 2019.

Tommy Fleetwood of England plays his second shot on the 18th hole during the Final Round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club on January 21, 2024 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

It was an uninspiring start to 2024 for Tommy Fleetwood at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, but he quickly found his form with a win at the Dubai Invitational and then a T14 at the Dubai Desert Classic.

His odds remain palatable thanks to his lack of course history at Pebble Beach and that he’s yet to record a win in the United States.

Fleetwood’s game translates well on any type of course and if the weather is nasty, he should have an edge over a lot of players in this field.

This will be Adam Scott’s 2024 PGA Tour debut, but the Aussie’s form around the world has been quite impressive of late.

Scott finished T7 at the Dubai Desert Classic two weeks ago and had strong showings in Australia to close out 2023.

Scott should be able to handle the conditions at Pebble Beach, and his T7 at the 2019 U.S. Open here is another signal that he can provide a good sweat at a great price.
