Saquon Barkley’s holdout is over, having agreed to a one-year contract worth $10.1 million for the 2023 NFL season.

With one of the league’s top running backs returning to the fold and reporting to training camp on time, he could be primed for a massive season with the motivation of a long-term contract within sight.

Barkley has three incentives in his contract at $300,000 a piece, making his total contract worth $11 million if he hits all of them.

Barkley would get roughly $303,000 each for the following three statistical achievements.

Barkley will be playing for the stats just as much as you will hope for as a bettor.

As for something worth betting on, let’s check out that tasty rushing total, as Caesars opened it at 950.5, much lower than the market norm, which opened at 1000.5.

We know Barkley is going to be shooting for that 1,350 rushing yards total this season to make a little extra coin.

The star running back ran for 1,307 last season and 11 rushing touchdowns so we know that oddsmakers are clearly expecting a reduction in rushing work this season.

But who is to say the Giants won’t just run Barkley into the ground, having not committed to him long-term?

He averaged just over 16 carries per game in 16 games played last season.

So if injuries take out Barkley, he would need to play in 13 games to give us an over at the same yards per game rate (81.69 yards per game).

Should his yards per carry of five stay the same but his carry total decrease from just over 16 to 12, he would need to play in 16 games to cash an over.

The Giants should be improved on the offensive side of the ball, and Barkley will welcome the ball every time his name is called.
