Two workers were shot and wounded inside a Bronx smoke shop Friday afternoon — apparently by a menace who had been kicked out of the store earlier this week, cops and law enforcement sources said.
The suspect fired at the workers, 21 and 22, inside Burnside Exotic on West Burnside Avenue near Davidson Avenue in University Heights around 2:20 p.m., authorities said.
Both employees were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the younger man – who was shot in the stomach — underwent surgery, police said.
The older victim, who was shot in the leg, has not been cooperative with investigators, cops said.
Investigators believe the shooter was kicked out of the same store just two days ago, before making his violent return Friday, sources said.
It’s unclear whether he interacted with the victims before pulling the trigger.
The suspect had not been caught by the early evening, cops said.
