A 17-year-old boy was critically wounded after he was shot once in the stomach inside a Brooklyn community center Tuesday night, police said.
The victim was struck in the lobby of the Major R. Owens Health and Wellness Community Center in Crown Heights around 7:30 p.m., according to cops.
A dispute sparked the shooting, authorities said.
The teen victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, as no arrest has been made.
The shooter fled after he pulled the trigger, police said.
The suspect is a male, who was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants and red sneakers, the NYPD said.
A representative for the community center could not be reached late Tuesday night.
The community center is named after former US Congressman Major R. Owens.
The Brooklyn politician, who died in 2013, represented part of the borough for 12 terms in office.
The community center is a multi-purpose space that hosts adult and youth sports, as well as performing and visual arts.
