A 16-year-old girl was shot in the head and critically injured as she sat in a car outside a Queens school late Wednesday, cops said.
The teen was inside a car on Lucas Street near 121st Avenue in St. Albans – outside P.S. 015 Jackie Robinson – around 8:30 p.m. when she was struck, police said.
The young victim – who does not have a criminal record – did not appear to have been the intended target and was apparently caught in the crossfire between two feuding groups, WABC reported.
“Some kind of dispute” preceded the gun violence, police sources told the outlet.
A bullet hole could be seen in the window of the Hyundai SUV where the victim had been sitting, according to the network.
The girl was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition. No arrests have been made.
In a separate shooting hours later, around 1 a.m. Thursday, a 43-year-old man was shot in the head in front of an apartment door on Sterling Place near Rochester Avenue in Crown Heights, cops said.
He was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was also listed in critical condition.
The motive for the violence was not immediately known.
The shooting took place at the victim’s building, but it’s unclear if he was shot in front of his own apartment, police sources said.
