A 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday and charged in connection to a broad-daylight shooting in Brooklyn last month that wounded two teenagers, authorities said.
The teen suspect was captured around 10:30 a.m. and slapped with two counts of attempted to murder, the NYPD said.
Police are still on the hunt for a second assailant over the May 31 shooting.
Gunfire erupted that day after the two suspects approached a 17-year-old boy in front of a packed deli and began arguing with him, cops said at the time.
The dispute turned physical when one of the assailants hit the victim in the face with an open hand and the other suspect flashed a firearm, police said.
As the teenage victim fled, one of the suspects started shooting, police said.
The boy was struck in the left arm, and a 16-year-old girl, who was an innocent bystander, was shot twice in the right leg inside the deli, police said.
Both victims were taken to King County Hospital in stable condition.
The NYPD confirmed Tuesday investigators were still seeking a second suspect in the shooting.
The teenager who’s been charged was not identified by cops due to his age.
Witnesses last month described a chaotic scene to The Post when the shooting erupted.
“There were a lot of kids in here this morning buying sandwiches,” said deli worker Adnan Ahmed last month. “When we heard the shots, everyone ran to the back, where two of them got shot.”
“All of the kids come to this deli … sometimes they get into arguments but like regular, no shootings,” the worker added, noting there was no argument inside the store.
Elaine Antrobus, 44, who works across the street, said at the time the shooting sounded like firecracker sounds going off before people started to scramble to safety.
“It was chaotic,” she said. “Nobody knew which way to run.”
