Before we watch Charity Lawson’s final days in Fiji play out, The Bachelorette Season 20 lead sat down with host Jesse Palmer and 13 of her ex-boyfriends for an emotional, dramatic, at times just plain awkward night of tough conversations, apologies, and reminiscing on relationships past.

Monday night’s two-hour special anniversary episode welcomed back eliminated contestants Spencer Storbeck, Adrian Hassan, Peter Cappio, John Buresh, James Pierce, Caleb Balgaard, John Henry Spurlock, Michael Barbour, Aaron Schwartzman, Brayden Bowers, Xavier Bonner, Tanner Courtad, and Sean McLaughlin. After Palmer put several men in the hot seat, he welcomed three Bachelorette OGs for a mini-reunion, showed a glimpse at the eventful finale to come, and sat down with 71-year-old Golden Bachelor lead Gerry Turner to chat about his upcoming season.

In case you had any doubt that the boys delivered the drama, Palmer kicked off the special by announcing he was thirsty for tea, and halfway through, he said, “I told you I wanted the tea, and alas, my cup runneth over.” If you’re looking for recap of The Bachelorette Season 20’s “Men Tell All,” you’ve come to the right place. Enjoy 13 of the juiciest takeaways from the event below, but be mindful of spoilers ahead.

Remember when Sean, fed up with Brayden, said, “Don’t show up to the men tell all, bro. You’re not invited. Truthfully.” Well, guess who showed up! The Brayden Show continued as a large portion of the “Men Tell All” focused on unpacking Brayden beefs. Sean said the way Brayden shaped his narrative to Charity was “manipulative.” Michael and John asked why Brayden came back to steal time from the remaining men when he knew he didn’t want to be with Charity. And Adrian said Brayden “signed up for the wrong show,” which is 100% true.

Brayden also called out his Washington roomie Tanner for trash-talking him behind his back, claiming none of the guys ever confronted him about their feelings. “I found out about it through Charity or even running back the tapes,” Brayden said. Tanner admitted he looked at Brayden as someone who was getting validation week after week, but that watching Brayden become more negative, question Charity’s character, and call her “fake” started to mess with his head a bit.

When the boys got on the topic of Charity’s controversial “Longest Kiss In Bachelor History” group date (and Brayden’s infamous reaction), Brayden called out Adrian for telling Charity he said she was “classless.”

Brayden denied ever saying the word, and asked Jesse Palmer, “Do we have the tape or not?” He even went so far as to ask the studio audience if he said “classless,” and when the crowd screamed “YEAH!” in unison he said, “Apparently maybe I did.” However, before the episode cut to commercial break, a title card flashed the following words: “A search was made for footage of Brayden calling Charity ‘classless.’ So far, no footage has surfaced.” Sadly, Season 20, Episode 2 is no longer streaming on Hulu. So the world may never know.

Brayden wasn’t the only contestant to get called out at the “Men Tell All” special. Several men came for Sean, the Ken who stole Charity’s heart during a Barbie-themed group date, then rubbed everyone’s face in it at the after party. “I think until then there was kind of this mutual respect that we all had for each other,” James told Sean. “[The] problem happened when you decided to park your little keister between four guys on the couch — knowing exactly where she was going to sit — and take her immediately.” James said he only got three minutes with Charity that night because Sean wasted so much time. Tanner said, “I never wanted to punch someone in the face more to be honest.” And Aaron S. said, “…You had a group of loser Kens all sitting in the room together, and the last thing we want to see is your ass skipping in singing a song. You just walked into a hornet’s nest and you knew it.”

Sean assumed everyone would have had the same amazing group date energy, and was surprised when none of the guys greeted him with excitement. Before Sean could hold himself accountable, some bigger, more unexpected drama took the spotlight.

As Sean was responding to comments, a contestant named Peter Cappio — who you may not remember because he was eliminated Night 1 — chimed in and caused quite the commotion. “Who the heck even are you?” Caleb B. questioned, and when Peter introduced himself, Caleb screamed, “You’re the dude! He’s back!” Jesse swiftly changed the subject from Sean to some BTS Peter drama that secretly unfolded before Bachelor Nation’s eyes at the start of the season.

Though he didn’t have any drama on the show, Peter explained, “When the season wrapped we had a cast Zoom call [and] 15 or 16 of the guys, at the end of their headshots, put the initials “FP” at the end of their post. Brayden was actually man enough to come to me and tell me what it meant, and what it meant was “F*** Peter.” The pilot, with 15,500 Instagram followers, said he was “confused and ultimately pretty upset” when he learned these guys he barely knew put the secret code on Instagram, and he told Palmer he had no idea he rubbed anyone the wrong way.

Xavier turned to Peter and apologized, saying, “Before we go any further, we shouldn’t have done that. It was a bad play. It was just an inside joke. Nobody would have known it was against Peter if [Brayden] hadn’t shared it.” Jesse pulled up two Instagram posts (from Sean and Aaron B.) that included “FP” at the end of the captions, and when Peter questioned why the guys did it, Aaron S. said, “Cause you are a bitch, that’s what you are.”

“It’s basically because you said FU to every single dude that tried to speak to you,” Caleb B. said. Even John spoke up, saying “the very first night you sit down next to me, and you look at the camera, and you look at me, you open your body up, make sure the camera’s getting you at the right angle and you go, ‘So who do you think is here for the wrong reasons?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know, you maybe.'”

Aaron S. claimed Peter was the first guy on the Zoom call after everyone got home and was asking about endorsement deals when he was on the show “for five seconds.” He said, “I remember you laughing and saying, ‘Thanks for putting me on the map. I’ll make a t-shirt out of it. Then the next night you used this as a platform for a pity party. I have no respect for that, dude.” Peter claimed he never made shirts, but it’s clear there’s a lot about this joke gone wrong that we still don’t know.

Jesse then welcomed Brayden to the hot seat to chat about his bold fashion choices and bold personality. “Watching it back was tough,” he said. “What bothered me watching it back was to see that [Charity] did have all those feelings for me.” He claimed he never held any reservations back and left when he couldn’t see himself getting engaged at the end, but the guys grilled him again for not reading the room and repeatedly stealing crucial time with Charity away from them. Brayden also admitted he was fully ready to fight Aaron B. the night he left.

“I’m just gonna be real. I was gonna beat him up. I’m not an aggressive person. It’s not often I want to fight people, but again, I was ready to fight him,” Bradyen said before making a full reveal. “By the way there was no driver in the van when he said, ‘hit the gas.’ I just want to make that clear, he was saying ‘hit the gas’ to nobody.” Perfect TV.

Before Brayden left the stage he gave Jesse a pair of clip-on earrings, and the host tried them on in one of my favorite moments in the franchise. If you, like Decider, fear things won’t be the same without Brayden’s statement earrings, have no fear. He’s taking them to Bachelor in Paradise, where he has a steamy makeout sesh with earring fan (and Zach Shallcross’ ex) Kat Izzo.

Xavier on 'The Bachelorette' "Men Tell All" special

At long last, Jesse checked in with Xavier about his unexpected exit from the show last week. Charity said goodbye to Xavier ahead of Fantasy Suites after he revealed he was not only unfaithful to a partner of two years in the past, but that he was unsure he could be faithful to her in the future.

Xavier told Jesse it’s tough to watch the footage back because “that conversation just did not happen like I planned it to happen, and I stuck my foot in my mouth and made a mistake instead of making her feel like she was the only woman for me.” Since he left Fiji, Xavier said it’s been hard to move on from Charity because he “was in love with her” and “feelings like that just don’t go away. “I think about our time together literally every day,” he said, revealing he started therapy after the show to work on himself and get ready to be someone’s partner.

Charity finally took the stage and had kind words for Sean, Tanner, and John, but she did tell Brayden that although they had chemistry and hit it off, she didn’t like how he talked about their relationship to the guys, and the tapes were hard for her to watch back. “I feel like I was my 100% authentic self to you,” she said. “I think I gave you a lot more grace than I should have if I’m being honest.”

When Jesse called Charity and Xavier up to the stage together, the two relived that fateful night in Fiji and Charity told him the info he shared should have been brought to her attention much sooner. Xavier denounced cheating, and told Charity he didn’t know how to suppress his doubt at the time, but knows he can be that faithful man.

“It’s hard to share that part about of me and have it go so horrible. I wish my answers reflected the man I want to be in the future, which is a faithful man to his wife,” Xavier said. He left the stage for a moment and returned with a knitted rose to thank Charity and show her how much he cared.

Remember Captain Tom? The swamp captain who took Sean, Tanner, and Charity on their two-on-one date in New Orleans? He flew out for the “Men Tell All” special to support “Chastity” and give a rose to Sean. Sorry, Tanner.

In celebration of 20th Season of The Bachelorette, former leads Trista Sutter (Season 1), Desiree Siegfried (Season 9), and DeAnna Pappas (Season 4) joined Charity for a mini-reunion full of advice and praise.

Gerry Turner on 'The Bachelorette' "Men Tell All" special

The Bachelorette‘s “Men Tell All” special gave viewers a sneak peek at Gerry Turner’s upcoming Golden Bachelor season, and you won’t want to miss a moment of the wholesome second shot at love. Turner revealed his wife of 43 years unexpectedly passed away after contracting a bacterial infection in her kidneys and liver just days after they bought their dream house by a lake in Indiana. His two daughters and grandaughters are fully supportive of him looking for love again, he passed his STD and drug tests, and he hopes to find a woman who thinks of him as her own “grandzaddy.” (His terminology still needs some work.)

We also got a sneak peek at The Bachelorette‘s eventful three-hour finale event, in which Charity is seen kissing Aaron Bryant, tearfully saying she’s “torn,” and telling the cameras, “for the first time in all of this I’m truly not OK.” We also see Charity’s mom telling her the decision is not hers to make. And on proposal day, an emotional Charity says she’s “gonna have a panic attack,” followed by, “You are not supposed to say goodbye to somebody that you love.” Will Charity’s love story have a happy ending? We’ll have to wait a week to find out.

New episodes of The Bachelorette premiere on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Episodes are available for next-day streaming on Hulu.
