Former president Donald Trump used reports that President Biden called him a “sick f***” as fundraising fodder in an email to supporters on Friday night.
“He doesn’t just think that about me, he thinks that about EVERY SINGLE ONE of my proud supporters,” the email said, one day after Politico reported the comments Biden allegedly made behind closed doors.
Three unnamed sources told the outlet Biden has “described Trump to longtime friends and close aides as a ‘sick f***’ who delights in others’ misfortunes.” Biden has also allegedly said “what a f*ing ahole the guy is.”
The email went on to highlight earlier comments from Trump’s 2016 challenger, Hillary Clinton, who “calls us deplorables.”
“Biden will spit on us & call us every curse word in the dictionary,” the fundraising plea read.
“And I know with your patriotic support at this very moment, WE WILL STOP HIM!”the email added. “Before the day is over, I’m calling on EVERY PATRIOT reading this message to chip in and say, I LOVE PRESIDENT TRUMP!”
Trump has previously had great success fundraising off of his various legal issues. Yet those same legal issues have also served as a drain on his financials: In the latter half of 2023, Trump’s fundraising committees spent nearly $30 million in legal fees.
The former president is currently the frontrunner in the GOP primary after he won the early states of Iowa and New Hampshire; it is unprecedented for a Republican candidate in a contested primary to win both states.
In head-to-head general election polling, Trump beats Biden 46.6 percent to 44.8 percent, according to a RealClearPolitics average.
