NextImg:The Corner: Using NR’s The Week to Catch Up

I was out of the office all last week on orders. From Sunday to Saturday, I barely had time to check headlines, let alone dive deep into the roiling vortex of American politics in the second month of the second Trump era. As soon as I returned home, however, the very first thing I did was to read the most recent edition of NR’s The Week newsletter.

In the time I was away from my desk, CBS’s Margaret Brennan suggested that free speech in Germany had led to the Holocaust, Pam Bondi’s Justice Department went to war with the U.S. attorneys in the Southern District of New York over the Eric Adams prosecution, Hamas terrorists yet again demonstrated their barbarity by parading the coffins of murdered children, President Trump lambasted Ukraine and its president via tweet in a bout of misguided foreign policy “realism,” and Mayor Pete tried to accuse new Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy of mismanagement. Oh, yeah, and Saturday Night Live turned 50.

Life (and the news cycle) happens fast! — which is why you need to sign up for National Review’s The Week newsletter. It’s free to all, but to get it in your inbox, you have to subscribe to it.

Emailed every Friday at 6:30 a.m. ET, The Week is your one-stop shop for our take on what’s happening in American politics, the culture, and the world at large. There’s simply no better source for a quick, lively update on what’s going on out there.
