Baseball fans across the country have delighted in the Mets collapse out of the playoff hunt. The richest owner in baseball who bought the most expensive free agent failed. The team that gets outsized hype because of its location, and gets ahead of itself because its Yankee-induced younger brother syndrome got humbled.

Oh the Mets suck? Wow, that’s the first time I’m hearing this.

To be honest, most Mets fans were relieved at the collapse. We’ve hated watching this team since July. Great core group of players: Lindor, Díaz, Soto, and Alonso. Everything else can go.
