On today’s edition of The Editors, Rich and Co. discuss what’s happened in the five years since the killing of George Floyd and the ensuing riots. Rich asks Dominic about “this moment of lunacy in America’s culture and civic life where you had every corporation in America basically running scared and having to adopt various DEI practices and pony up money to woke causes and organizations.”
“It seems like a lot of companies have realized that getting really involved very visibly in politics is probably not a great idea for them,” says Dominic, “and that’s a good thing, I think. It’s not what businesses are for.”
“If Covid had never happened,” says Jim, “the George Floyd killing would be Rodney King.”
The Editors podcast is recorded on Tuesdays and Fridays every week and is available wherever you listen to podcasts.
