In recent weeks, dozens of politicians and public figures across Europe have received requests for interviews from unknown people claiming to be journalists from Novaya Gazeta Europe.
According to our information, politicians in Lithuania, deputies from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and representatives of the Belarus opposition have been targeted most often with false requests.
The persons attempting to pass themselves off as Novaya Gazeta Europe journalists have used fake press cards and provided false contact details for our editorial office.
We ask you to verify any requests for interview via our editorial office, and to check whether anyone writing to request an interview is using an official email address ending in novayagazeta.eu.
Novaya Gazeta Europe is looking into who is using our name with dishonest intent.
