At least two people were killed in an overnight drone strike on the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa as Russia hit targets across the country, injuring 13, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Tuesday.
Zelensky condemned the nighttime attacks in the Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Chernihiv regions, adding that the two ballistic missiles used in the attacks on the country had been manufactured in North Korea.
According to the regional Prosecutor’s Office, over 10 Russian drones struck Odesa, damaging residential buildings and several medical facilities, including a maternity hospital.
Residential buildings were also struck in seven districts of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, with drone debris falling on a school, independent news outlet RusNews reported. Four people were hospitalised, according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
Two people were also injured in a drone attack in the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, according to Governor Serhiy Lysak.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had used 315 Shahed drones, two ballistic missiles and five Iskander cruise missiles in its overnight attacks across Ukraine, with air defences neutralising all seven missiles and all but 38 of the drones. There were airstrikes in 11 different locations across the country, it said.
