Odesa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov

Three people were killed in overnight missile strikes on the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa, regional governor Oleh Kiper wrote Tuesday.

In a message on Telegram, Odesa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov urged Ukrainians to respond to air raid warnings as quickly as possible, as Russia had intensified its strikes on Ukraine in recent days. Trukhanov added that Russia had used ballistic missiles in the strike.

The strike follows Monday’s attack on Odesa that killed five people and injured at least 23.

The city of Nikopol, in southern Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, was also struck overnight from Grad rocket launchers, local governor Serhiy Lysak said, adding that one woman was injured.

Odesa, a port city in southern Ukraine, has been repeatedly struck by Russian missiles since the start of the Russian invasion.
