The Russian military launched ballistic missiles and drones at the Ukrainian capital overnight, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said on Saturday.
Four people were killed and another three were injured in the attack, according to the head of the capital’s military administration, Timur Tkachenko.
According to Klitschko, a fire broke out in one non-residential building immediately following the attack, several streets flooded due to damage to water pipes, and the entrance hall of Lukyanivska metro station was damaged.
Eight people were also injured in a Russian airstrike on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia overnight, Governor Ivan Fedorov said on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defence Ministry announced that it had intercepted 46 Ukrainian drones overnight, which it said its air defences had prevented from reaching targets while flying over the Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Voronezh and Belgorod regions, though it did not specify the total number of Ukrainian military drones launched into its airspace.
