US Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has received a KGB report into the November 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy from Russia’s ambassador to the country, she announced on Tuesday.

“I have received a hard copy of the report on JFK’s assassination from the Ambassador of Russia,” Luna said on X, adding that “a team of experts” would “begin translation and full review of documents” promptly.

In a separate tweet, Luna said this was a 350-page report with the findings of an investigation carried out by the Soviet authorities. She promised to upload the files alongside Jefferson Morley, an American journalist who runs the JFK Facts substack.

Morley said he would be “posting translations, done by fluent Russian speakers, of significant material in the document”, while also providing further context.

The Russian Embassy in Washington confirmed that it had handed over a report on the Kennedy assassination at Luna’s request, saying it would be published in Russia next month.

A Republican representing the state of Florida, Luna is an avid supporter of US President Donald Trump and is in favour of fostering ties with Russia, planning to meet Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev later this month,

Luna has also repeatedly criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of “banning the Orthodox Church”, referring to Ukraine banning organisations linked to the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church. She also accused Zelensky of transferring millions of dollars to a bank account in Saudi Arabia every month without providing any evidence, which has been widely reported in Russian state media.

Trump signed a decree ordering the declassification of files relating to Kennedy’s assassination shortly after his inauguration in January, though as media noted at the time, almost all the material was already in the public domain.
