NextImg:Why Won't the Liberal Media Investigate the Violence-Cheering Left?

The year: 1963.

President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated that November while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas.

Three years later, journalist William Manchester authored the bestselling book The Death of a President. The book was a 350,000-word narrative of the events surrounding that infamous day in Dallas.

Among the notable things about the book was its portrait of Dallas. In spite of the by-then well known fact that assassin Lee Harvey Oswald was a serious Communist sympathizer, an activist for “Fair Play for Cuba” among other things, the book painted a portrait of Dallas as having an alleged political atmosphere of far-right extremism and hatred that had resulted in Democrat JFK’s assassination.

To quote a passage from the book:

There was something else in the city, something unrelated to conventional politics-a stridency, a disease of the spirit, a shrill, hysterical note suggestive of a deeply troubled society. In Dallas this was particularly dismaying because for some time the city’s cherished image had been blemished by a dark streak of violence.

Manchester was not the only member of the media who had put Dallas and its political atmosphere under an unforgiving microscope after the assassination. The media of the day in general was similarly scathing in its coverage of Dallas.

This comes to mind as, decades later, an explosion of violence from a left-wing crazy has taken the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Over here at LifeNews.com was this headline:

Charlie Kirk’s Killer Tyler Robinson Was a Radical Leftist, Wrote “Hey Fascist, Catch” on a Bullet

The story reports:

The young man who allegedly assassinated a beloved pro-life conservative activist was himself a radical leftist who self-identified as Antifa.

The 22-year-old man accused of fatally shooting pro-life conservative activist Charlie Kirk had scrawled “Hey fascist, catch” on a bullet casing recovered from the scene, law enforcement officials said Friday.

The initial details about the shooter are painting the suspect as a radicalized leftist who turned against his staunchly Republican family.

What does this have to do with the media coverage of long-ago Dallas after the JFK assassination?

As noted, what followed after that moment in long-ago history was a serious and detailed examination of the alleged far right-wing politics of Dallas in particular and Texas and the surrounding American South more broadly.

But today, it takes the conservative Breitbart site to take a serious look at the far left politics that are floating in - poisoning? - America’s political waters. Here’s a sample headline:

‘Charlie’s Murderers’ Website Exposes Leftists Cheering the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

The story reports:

Shortly after the shocking assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, many leftists took to social media to mock, deride, and laugh at Kirk with many expressing happiness at his death. A new website, named Charlie’s Murderers, aims to expose those that attacked Kirk in his final moments.

So the question?

Where is the massive liberal media coverage of exactly what’s going on with the sewer of hatred swamping the American Left?

Scan the coverage of The New York Times or The Washington Post or left-wing TV networks and there is zero - say again zero - coverage of the not-so hidden threats coming from various quarters of the American Left.

Instead there is coverage like this from Newsweek

Charlie Kirk's Assassination Mocked By Liberals Citing Gun Views

While they didn't reference guns another X user got 13.3 million views on the platform by posting an eight second compilation of a woman repeatedly hitting a button, with the caption 'me liking every tweet making fun of charlie kirk.'

However other commentators condemned these reactions, British broadcaster Piers Morgan on X commenting: 'Seeing so many clips/posts of supposedly 'kind tolerant' liberals gleefully celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder. They're so utterly disgusting.'

Over at Newsmax there was a clip of various anonymous leftists expressing their glee over the killing.

But a massive liberal media investigation of the hatred from the American Left that clearly bubbles and percolates just underneath the surface of American politics?

Not to be seen.

The question now: Will this continue?

Stay tuned.
