NextImg:Why Fail to Remember Rough Talk of Obama, Biden, Booker, Schumer and Waters?

"It's the left, no it's the right, no it's both."

Ever since the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk, the media has been embroiled in a constant debate over who has a monopoly on inciteful and downright violent political rhetoric. These "debates" are usually one sided with the overwhelming majority of those involved coming from the hard left.

To me, there is no contest. Not only has most of the violence come from the left, so has the violent talk. The token conservatives who have been allowed to weigh in on this, have done a good job for the most part, in pointing out that Donald Trump was shot, and another assassination attempt on him was stopped. Steve Scalise was also shot, there was an assassination attempt on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, (more on this later) and the left has burned down cities and has been rioting on and off for years. They point out that the left calls Trump a Nazi, and every other name in the book, claiming he is an existential threat to our country. And of course it is Charlie Kirk who was killed in Utah.

But for some reason, these conservative voices are missing several examples of high ranking Democrats who have talked about attacking Donald Trump, threatened SCOTUS Justices and urged confrontation with members of Trump's administration.

If I were sitting on a CNN or MSNBC panel as a conservative, or if I was on one of the Sunday morning network news shows, or if I were a guest on Fox News, I would make sure to present all of the following:

In June of 2008, while running for President, Barack Obama was speaking at a fundraiser in Philadelphia about the campaign ahead against John McCain, and reportedly said, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun."

On June 22, 2019, Senator Cory Booker, a Democrat from New Jersey, appeared on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers and informed the audience that "Donald Trump is a guy who you understand he hurts you. And my testosterone sometime, makes me wanna feel like punching him." The macho man then bragged, "Which would be bad for this elderly out of shape man that he is if I did that. This physically weak specimen."

On March 20, 2018, former Vice President Joe Biden was speaking at an anti-sexual harassment event at  the University of Miami and said that he was asked if he'd like to debate Donald Trump about some of his previous remarks, to which Biden responded, "I said no, if we were in high school I'd take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him."

That wasn't the first time Biden had expressed the desire to hurt Donald Trump. During an October 2016 campaign event for Hillary Clinton in  Pennsylvania,  then V.P. Biden said, "“The press always asks me, don’t I wish I were debating him?” “No, I wish we were in high school, I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish.”

On March 4, 2020, Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, then the leading Democrat in the Senate, spoke at a rally outside the U.S. Supreme Court, focused on a Louisiana abortion rights case. He used the opportunity to issue this message, or threat, to two conservative Justices, "I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have unleashed the whirlwind, and you will pay the price...You won't know what hit you, if you go forward with these awful decisions." Two years later, in June of 2022, a man attempted to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home.

On June 23, 2018, speaking at a rally in Los Angeles, California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters urged folks to go after members of the Trump administration.  "And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in  a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you stay in a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they're not welcome, anymore anywhere." She also appeared on MSNBC and claimed that the people would "turn on them, protest, and absolutely harass them." 


Naturally I don't expect the left to ever bring these examples up. And folks, I'm no genius. But if I know about these outrageous blatant examples of violent rhetoric from high ranking, high profile members the democrat party, why on earth are others on the conservative side not using these to make their points. Charlie Kirk was assassinated, what more needs to be said.
