“The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire ‘Birthday Card’ story is false,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt declared Monday, responding to a story reporting that a copy of a birthday book purportedly containing President Donald Trump’s signature given to Jeffrey Epstein has been provided to Congress.
Lawyers for Epstein’s estate have given a copy of the book to members of the House Oversight Committee, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, including a photo of a suggestive drawing and the alleged signature of Trump. The book was given to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003, three years before Epstein’s first arrest for notorious sex crimes.
“Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, didn’t immediately respond Monday to a request for comment,” the article reports.
But, Leavitt was not given any time to respond to the story, the White House press secretary explained in a social media post denying the article’s claims:
“Furthermore, the ‘reporter’ @joe_palazzolo who wrote this hatchet job reached out for comment at the EXACT same minute he published his story giving us no time to respond. This is FAKE NEWS to perpetuate the Democrat Epstein Hoax!”

“[I]t’s not his signature,” Deputy White House Chief of Staff and Cabinet Secretary Taylor Budowich concurred in a separate post echoing Leavitt’s comments.
