NextImg:PROPAGANDA: Univision’s NYC Post-Primary Wrap an In-Kind Ad for Zohran Mamdani

Univision’s midday newscast could not conceal its gleeful squeeing over Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary. And some of the coverage the next day was so over-the-top that Mamdani should consider disclosing it on his campaign finance forms as an in-kind donation.

Watch as midday anchor Borja Voces closes the report out with what sure sounds like a call to action:

BORJA VOCES: (Mamdani) is a member of the New York State Assembly since 2021, and he considers himself to be a Democratic Socialist. Now, then. Among his proposals, the ones that have attracted the most attention are these: free bus service, a rent freeze, he also wants to create a chain of low-cost supermarkets. And finally, he wants to provide free childcare for kids between six weeks and five years of age. And the million-dollar question: Will he become the next mayor of the Big Apple? Only time, and your vote, will decide.

It’s the hammering home of “YOUR VOTE WILL DECIDE” for me. Such gushing for socialists is not out of place at Univision, which rendered similar worship to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez when she burst upon the national scene. They now go all out, as does the legacy media, to squeal over the new socialist on the block.

The warm biography gives way to the least damaging description of Mamdani’s policy proposals, which includes zero pushback on any idea. We’ll be watching to see how they cover Mamdani’s proposal to institute city-run stores, which would likely decimate neighborhood bodegas.

Not only is there glowing coverage of some of Mamdani’s proposals, but there is outright omission of some of his other ideas. There is no mention, for example, of Mamdani’s proposed tax increases. Likewise, there is no mention of his past calls to defund the police. No matter how unhinged the policies may be, the socialist must always be cast in warm light- Whether at Univision or anywhere else in the media.

BORJA VOCES: Let's completely change the subject.Check it out: a surprise in the Democratic primaries for Mayor of New York. Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim who is  just 33 years old, he, yes? has defeated a Big Apple heavyweight. None other than former Governor Andrew Cuomo. But who is this progressive-leaning politician? I'll explain. Mamdani was born in 1991 in Uganda to an Indian family. He immigrated to the United States as a child and grew up in New York City. He holds a degree in African studies from Bowdoin College, where he co-founded the university chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. Before entering politics, he worked as a housing counselor helping low-income homeowners in heavily Hispanic neighborhoods, such as Queens. He is a great advocate for the working class. On the other hand, he is a member of the New York State Assembly since 2021, and he considers himself to be a Democratic Socialist.
