“California authorities ignored an ICE detainer — now, six people are dead,” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported Tuesday after an illegal alien drove a van into a tree killing six passengers and injuring another.

“Norberto Cerillo-Bialva should have never been in the U.S.,” ICE explained in a social media post:

“He now faces murder charges.

“Following his third drunk driving arrest last year, ICE issued a detainer to pick him up upon his release from jail. Unfortunately, the local police ignored the request.”

“Cerillo-Bialva has been removed from the United States seven times—a felony—and maintains an extensive criminal history,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement, noting that the illegal alien has “an extensive criminal history,” including:

• Possession of cocaine.
• Three DUIs.
• Driving without a license.
• Violating a court ordered restraining order for domestic abuse.

As a result of his state’s refusal to honor the ICE detainer, Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom “has blood on his hands,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said:

“Governor Newsom has blood on his hands. This serial criminal should have never been released by California authorities.

“Sanctuary policies protect the WORST OF THE WORST criminal illegal aliens. ICE will do everything in our power to remove this serial drunk driver, abuser, and drug user from our country.”
