NextImg:FAKE NEWS: MSNBC’s Al Sharpton Insists Motive to Charlie Kirk Killing Still Unknown

MSNBC pre-empted portions of their regularly-scheduled programming in order to carry the memorial for Charlie Kirk, held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. During one of these segments where they broke back in for “analysis”, the Reverend Al Sharpton suggested, without evidence, that the motive and “political leanings” of the killer are somewhat unknown.

Watch as Sharpton calls for gun control while spreading the “no motive” hoax:

AL SHARPTON: Let us- let us deal with the fact how he was killed is something no one should face in this country, and we do not know yet what the motive or the political leanings of the killer was. We're getting certain different, varying reports. Let us deal with the fact that he was killed by a young guy. We need to know what motivates this. If it's left or right, we need to say this needs to stop, cannot be tolerated, and we need to deal with the issues of too many guns.

There is enough evidence presented by Utah authorities, between relative testimony and the text messages between the shooter and his transgender lover, to suggest that there is a motive behind the shooting. The evidence points to the shooter wanting to get rid of “hate”. There are the writings on each bullet casing. No matter how much the left may want it to be otherwise, the shooting was a political act with a clear motive.

Sharpton also pivots to gun control, because this is what the left reflexively does in the wake of tragedies such as these. But the rifle used in the shooting was an antique bolt-action rifle, the type of which is usually ignored when gun control legislation is discussed. This wasn’t a scary AR or even a semiautomatic. But the reflex is to go for the guns.

No tragedy is safe when it comes to the leftwing media wanting to prescribe preferred policy positions and obscuring clear evidence from their viewers. The same goes for MSNBC, even if it means shielding viewers from the uncomfortable truth about motive in the assassination of Charlie kirk.

ANTONIA HYLTON: Rev, it is good as always to have you with us. I want to hear your immediate reaction to the remarks that we've heard today. And in particular, I'm interested in what you think of the references to God, the religious and revival elements of the service.

AL SHARPTON: I think people at memorial services should address their feeling in terms of how the person, the deceased, that we are memorializing saw God, saw their religion. That is appropriate. I think there ought to be comfort for the family. Although I disagreed with- Charlie, Kirk said and did in terms of his political and policy views. I feel for his family, I feel for his kids, and I refuse to go to the level that some have gone to to use this to try and demonize the left wing or some people that disagree. I thought it was very interesting. Secretary of State Rubio talked about how Charlie would want to debate people and talk things out. I hope that's what the president calls for tonight, rather than getting up, finger pointing and blaming. I think he should use what Charlie used, you say, let's debate these issues. I disagreed- I prayed last night on PoliticsNation. President Obama talking about he disagreed with Charlie King's critique against Dr. King or against the civil rights legislation. We ought to be debating that. But how do you in the- in the week you censor, in my opinion, late night talk show hosts and other things say that, yes, Charlie was against censorship. Well, then you ought to follow what Charlie said and not do that to people. So I think if they really want to memorialize them, they should say, do what he did. He reached out to people, according to what Rubio quoted and said, let's debate, let's talk, and let us not get into the acrimony that we heard in the last couple of days from the president and others. And I hope in his speech tonight, he'll come together. The four living ex-presidents all came out and made statements of- of regret over the death and killing of Charlie Kirk. So did many of us in the civil rights community. I would- would think it would be good and healing for the nation if Trump did the same thing. I do not know that he will. I don't even expect that he will. But he has an opportunity to take a stand that the country needs healing while we all pray for this family. I refuse and I encourage others that disagreed with him like I did, to don't stoop to the level of- of going back and forward with rancor and address the issue of guns. Let us- let us deal with the fact how he was killed is something no one should face in this country, and we do not know yet what the motive or the political leanings of the killer was. We're getting certain different, varying reports. Let us deal with the fact that he was killed by a young guy. We need to know what motivates this. If it's left or right, we need to say this needs to stop, cannot be tolerated, and we need to deal with the issues of too many guns.
