“So we do want to provide health care funds for illegals,” Fox News’ Brit Hume pointed out, reacting to a Democrat congressman’s admission Tuesday that not all of the increase in health care funding Democrats want is going to American citizens.
“So we do want to provide health care funds for illegals, but just not much of it,” Chief Political Analyst Hume wrote on X.com, responding to video of Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) on Fox Business discussing the funding battle that has caused the government to shut down.

Host Maria Bartiromo: “What [Republicans] keep saying is that the Democrats want to make it easier for illegal immigrants to get health care.
“And while they say they want to return to pre-COVID spending, there is no effort on the Democrats’ side to return to pre-COVID spending - if you’re adding a trillion dollars in health care spending. Your response?”
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA): “In terms of health care, the reality is they’re just not being honest. The amount of money that actually is going towards people who are undocumented is such a small portion of the Medicaid cuts or the Affordable Care Act, if at all.”
….
“Anyone who looks at the numbers will acknowledge that 90 to 95% of the funding we’re talking about is for American citizens.”
Thus, 5-10% of the funding would not go to American citizens, which would be up to $100,000,000 of the additional “trillion dollars in health care spending” Bartiromo noted Democrats are demanding in order to end the government shutdown.
