NextImg:Ben Shapiro: ‘Pres. Trump Is the Added Ingredient’ that Finally Made Middle East Peace Possible

President Donald Trump has had extraordinary success bringing peace to the Middle East because he employs effective strategies, instead of fanciful theories, conservative commentator and Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said Friday.

After decades of failure by others, Pres. Trump succeeded in bringing peace to the Middle East, most recently by brokering a ceasefire agreement this week between Israel and the terrorist Hamas in Gaza.

Trump’s deal, which appears to have ended the war prompted by Hamas’ brutal, unprovoked attack on Israel two years ago, also returns the hostages taken by Hamas during its terror strike.

“How did he do it?” Fox and Friends Co-Host Brian Kilmeade asked Shaprio.

“Well, I think the president ignored pretty much all the conventional wisdom, all the State Department conventional wisdom, that had failed for 80 years,” Shapiro answered.

Trump’s “singularly extraordinary record in the Middle East” is due to his real-world understanding of how politics work in the Middle East, Shapiro explained:

“He understands that, in the Middle East, you actually have to force people to keep by their promises.

“The president refused to accept the idea of an Iranian-dominated Middle East and, instead, he gave the Israelis what they needed to succeed militarily,” Shapiro said. “And, diplomatically, he worked with erstwhile allies, like Qatar and Turkey, and made them promise that they were going to push Hamas into the corner.”

“That’s the thing that changed between two years ago, or a year ago, and now. President Trump is the added ingredient and ensuring Israeli victory,” Shapiro concluded.
