OTTAWA — U.S. President Donald Trump will make an announcement Wednesday afternoon about tariffs on auto imports, said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Leavitt wouldn’t reveal any details about the tariffs, except that an announcement is being made.

Trump had previously said that he would reveal auto tariffs on April 2, the same day the White House was scheduled to announce reciprocal tariffs that would match trade barriers levied by other countries.
