Richard Rohmer has been called the most interesting man in Canada. Now, at 100 years old, the former lawyer/political advisor/thriller writer has been recognized by Prince William and Princess Catherine for his wartime service.

Rohmer was in France this week to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a day he recalls in a new National Post video.

“Honoured to mark #DDAy80 with Major General Richard Rohmer at Juno Beach this week,” the prince and princess of Wales said in a tweet Friday.

The Royals tweeted out a short interview clip of Rohmer, and added: “Thank you for your service and giving us the future we enjoy today.”
