Why has Miami, but not Toronto, become one of the world’s great eating capitals? Because the crowd is so international that it attracts second locations of top restaurants from around the world: Europe, South America and from other cities in the U.S.

Toronto has had a few but most, like Momofuku or Scarpetta, failed badly. Although we have several Asian transplants, none are brilliant.
