Please forgive this recitation of a long-held and hopefully not controversial belief: a strong, free press is a pillar of any strong democracy. That’s certainly been my experience through my career in business, and I’ve had a front-row seat to its impact in my role on the board of Postmedia, on which I’ve had the privilege to serve since the company’s inception.
